Insurance & Liability Policy

This Insurance & Liability Policy explains how insurance, damage coverage, and financial responsibility work when renting a vehicle from us. Please read this page carefully before completing your rental.

1. Overview of Coverage Options

We offer several insurance and protection packages designed to give you peace of mind during your rental. These options are available at checkout or at the rental counter.

a. Basic Coverage (Included)

All rentals include the minimum state-required liability coverage.
This coverage:

  • Protects third parties in the event of an accident.
  • Does not cover damage to the rental vehicle.
  • Does not cover personal injuries, personal property, or towing.

b. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

__ By indicating here, you agree to purchase our CDW. Our CDW does not cover all instances of damage to the Vehicle. There are are exclusions subject to the terms of the rental agreement in paragraphs 4 and 7. Your responsibility for collision damage to the Vehicle is limited to $1500.

__ By indicating here, you decline to purchase our CDW and agree to be responsible for all damage to, loss of, or theft of the Vehicle.

CDW/LDW does not cover:

  • Lost keys or key fobs
  • Interior damage
  • Glass or tire damage (unless stated)
  • Fees related to towing, cleaning, or administrative processing
  • Unauthorized drivers or contract violations

c. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

Optional protection that increases your liability coverage limits for injuries or property damage to others. Recommended for renters who want higher-than-minimum protection.

d. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Optional coverage that provides benefits for medical expenses for the renter and passengers resulting from a covered accident.

e. Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)

Optional coverage protecting personal belongings stored inside the rental vehicle.

2. Driver Eligibility & Coverage Validity

Insurance coverage is valid only when:

  • The renter and all drivers are listed on the rental agreement
  • The vehicle is operated in accordance with traffic laws
  • The vehicle is used for personal or approved business use

Coverage may be void if:

  • The driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • The vehicle is used for off-road driving, towing, racing, or other prohibited uses
  • The rental agreement terms are violated

3. Damage, Accidents & Reporting Requirements

a. In Case of an Accident

You must:

  1. Notify local authorities immediately
  2. Obtain a police report
  3. Contact us as soon as possible
  4. Document the scene (photos, video)
  5. Exchange information with all involved parties

Failure to follow reporting requirements may void coverage.

b. Damage to the Vehicle

Renters are responsible for:

  • Any damage caused during the rental period
  • Loss of use while the vehicle is being repaired
  • Administrative fees
  • Towing and recovery charges
  • Interior or cleaning-related damage

Even with CDW/LDW, certain exclusions may apply.

4. Roadside Assistance

Basic roadside assistance is included for mechanical issues not caused by the renter.
Renters are responsible for:

  • Flat tire repairs (unless you purchased tire & wheel protection)
  • Dead batteries caused by lights left on
  • Fuel delivery and lockout services (unless covered under optional protection)

5. Use of Personal Auto Insurance

If you choose not to purchase our optional coverage, your own auto insurance policy may provide partial or full coverage.

You are responsible for confirming:

  • Your policy limits
  • Deductibles
  • Whether rental vehicles are included
  • Specific exclusions or conditions

We cannot contact your insurer on your behalf.

6. Use of Credit Card Coverage

Many credit cards provide secondary or primary collision protection.

You are responsible for confirming:

  • Coverage limitations
  • Required rental agreement documentation
  • Whether the protection applies in the area where the vehicle is rented
  • Excluded vehicle types (e.g., luxury, exotic, large SUVs)

7. Liability & Indemnification

By renting a vehicle from TNA Rentals LLC, you agree to:

  • Accept financial responsibility for all damages occurring during your rental
  • Indemnify and hold TNA Car Rental harmless from claims resulting from improper or unlawful vehicle use
  • Reimburse costs associated with violations, tolls, parking fines, or impound fees

8. No Insurance Guarantee

Nothing on this page constitutes legal or insurance advice. Insurance availability, coverage limits, and exclusions may vary by rental location, jurisdiction, and vehicle type.
